NEED OF BRITISH STANDARD PIPE FITTINGS:
Pipe fittings are really important in many industries and in
buildings for liquid and gas flow. In order to give facilitation to piping
system installer and related technical staff, so that similar type of work is done,
international standards are formulated. We can achieve better quality work and maintenance
can be done easily.
British Standard Pipe System is also one of the internationally adopted standard, it provides rules for connecting
pipes. Usually pipes are connected by mating a male thread with female thread.
BSP
defines two types of thread:
One is named as Parallel thread; this thread has a
fixed diameter, while other type diameter can be varied, they are called taper
thread. Both these type of threads have been given symbol of G and R
respectively .These threads can be used in two ways, one is called Long Screw
Method and the other is called Jointing thread method.
